ภาษาไทยตั้งคำถามง่ายมาก แค่เพิ่ม "ไหม" หรือ "มั้ย" ตอนท้าย: "คุณชอบกาแฟมั้ย?" แต่ภาษาอังกฤษต้องสลับ order ของคำ และต้องใช้ auxiliary verbs (do/does/did/is/are) — "You like coffee?" ผิด ต้องเป็น "Do you like coffee?"
ประเภทที่ 1 — Yes/No Questions ด้วย To Be
สลับ subject กับ to be:
She is happy. → Is she happy? → Yes, she is. / No, she isn't.
They are students. → Are they students? → Yes, they are. / No, they aren't.
You were tired. → Were you tired? → Yes, I was. / No, I wasn't.
ประเภทที่ 2 — Yes/No Questions ด้วย Do/Does/Did
สำหรับ verb ทั่วไป (ไม่ใช่ to be) ต้องใช้ do / does / did นำหน้า แล้วตามด้วย subject + V1:

ประเภทที่ 3 — Wh- Questions (ถามข้อมูลเฉพาะ)
ถ้าอยากรู้ว่า "อะไร / ที่ไหน / เมื่อไหร่ / ใคร / ทำไม / อย่างไร" ต้องใช้ Wh- word นำหน้า แล้วตามด้วย auxiliary verb:
Wh- word + auxiliary + subject + V1?
How ยังรวมกับคำอื่นได้: How many (กี่ชิ้น) · How much (เท่าไหร่) · How long (นานแค่ไหน) · How often (บ่อยแค่ไหน)
Who เป็น Subject ไม่ต้องใช้ auxiliary
Who called you? (Who = subject → ไม่ต้องใช้ did)
Who did you call? (Who = object → ต้องใช้ did)
→ ถ้า who ทำหน้าที่เป็นประธาน ไม่ต้องใส่ do/does/did
ประเภทที่ 4 — คำถามด้วย Modal และ Tense อื่นๆ
กฎเดียวกันใช้กับ auxiliary ทุกตัว ไม่ใช่แค่ do/does/did — ถ้าในประโยคมี modal (can/will/should) หรือ helping verb (is/are/have) อยู่แล้ว แค่ ย้ายมันมาไว้หน้าประโยค ก็เป็นคำถามทันที ไม่ต้องเติม do/does/did
Can you help me? (ช่วยผมหน่อยได้ไหม)
